Regenerative Medicine

What is Regenerative Medicine?

Throughout adult life, the body experiences a constant state of degeneration. In medicine, “aging” is defined as a “progressive physiological changes in an organism that lead to senescence, or a decline of biological functions and of the organism’s ability to adapt to metabolic stress.” In other words, cells in the body reach a point where their ability to support optimal function begins to dwindle, which can lead to downstream aging-related conditions and disease. While there is no way to fully avoid the aging process, advancements in science have led to therapeutic modalities that now populate the emerging field of Regenerative Medicine.

How can Regenerative Medicine help fight the aging process?

Regenerative Medicine stimulates the body’s own healing mechanisms to repair and regenerate tissues in the body to restore them to a functional state. Advanced treatments use growth factors, platelet-rich plasma, and certain hormones and peptides to help support healing, reduce inflammation, and prevent future issues. For many, this helps avoid the need for more invasive procedures or surgery.
